On October 8th, we had the privilege of hosting our main partner, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, for an inspiring day of presentations, networking, and collaboration at our office. This visit was a great opportunity for our team to gain insights into Kongsberg's pioneering work and learn more about potential career paths in the aerospace and defence industries.
We kicked off the day with a tour at the office, showing our partner the workspace and the team in their element. Each group had the chance to give a brief explanation of their work and showcase current projects. Then we all gathered for presentations, where we got to reflect on the achievements of the past year and share our ambitious plans for the months ahead. Our team covered our participation in IARC Mission 9 and SUAS 2024, and laid out a vision for the upcoming IARC Mission 10.
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace took the stage, sharing highlights of their latest innovations, expertise, and commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology. They presented their groundbreaking projects, and shared insights into potential career opportunities within the company. The presentations were followed by speed interviews, where Kongsberg offered our team members a unique chance to engage in quick, focused discussions about a possible summer-internship and long-term career prospects - a fantastic door-opener for those eager to dive into the industry.
The day ended with a pizza-gathering, where our team, alongside Orbit NTNU and Kongsberg representatives, had a chance to relax, reflect, and connect on a more personal level.
Back in December, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace invited the board to speak at a Technology Seminar for 10th graders in Kongsberg. During the session, we shared insights about our work at Ascend, the paths that led us to join the team, and our journeys before studying at NTNU. We also talked about the key considerations we had when choosing our fields of study in high school, an essential step for anyone planning their higher education.
Joining us in the presentation were representatives from Revolve NTNU and USN Horizon, making it a diverse and inspiring event for the students.
Looking back, it was a truly rewarding experience to not only showcase the exciting work we do at Ascend, but also inspire a new generation to pursue their passions and goals. A big thank you to Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace for giving us the opportunity to connect with the youth!
We remain deeply grateful for our ongoing partnership with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, and we are excited about what the future holds as we work together to drive innovation forward
